检查井是用于雨污水排放管道的附属建筑，是便于定期检查和疏通管道、防止管道堵塞的必要设施。

检查井适用于建筑小区（居住区、科研院所、学校、厂区）、停车坪、绿地、道路、印染区污水排放、酸碱工业废水排放、医院及疾病控制区域、雨水收集等。
